—About Stacy Shamy
When I was a child I suffered from chronic kidney infections and bronchitis. My body was always trying to tell me it was struggling to stay healthy. There were many environmental factors that attributed to my chronic illness and I learned early on how lifestyle and environments played a roll on the overall health and wellbeing of a body. I became interested in nutrition and working out when I was a teenager and felt a strong awareness to how real food was the medicine that heals. However, not all food was created equal and the realization of the way our food is mass produced and marketed was a concern as the industry was not created for health, but marketed for profit of big industries. When we consume poison and toxins, our body is having to work extra hard to filter out heavy metals, and chemicals from our organs and cells. The body is a self healing container in the right conditions. I spent years watching people around me suffer and struggle from health problems and I wanted to know how to avoid this path of disease. I was drawn to the real medicines of the mind, body, and spirit leading me to many tools to utilize and bring balance to the whole person. When I was pregnant with my first child at 25, I had my very first massage. It changed my life and realized that I wanted to help others feel what I felt. Relief. The trauma I suffered through childhood as well as learning how we are storing core wounds in our subconscious and conscious mind and body, began to bring awareness to generational patterns that needed healing. There was a shift as I became a mother and wanted my children to see what a healthy lifestyle looked like and felt like. Along the way, learning from guides, teachers and shamans who were there to bring light to the darkness. The integration is a way of being as I am continuing to shine light for others on the path. Healing Arts is a fascinating path of self discovery, self introspection and curiosity. It is truly joyful to help guide others back to their true self. Ive been a bodywork therapist for 23 years and counting.
